Asbestex Warns Homeowners to Register for NSW Government Asbestos Testing Before August 1st Deadline

NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia, July 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Asbestex, a licensed and certified asbestos inspection and removal company based in Sydney, has today issued a reminder to homeowners in New South Wales to avail of free asbestos inspections from the New South Wales Government for pre-1980 homes in 28 listed areas if they register before the deadline of the start of next month.

The NSW Government has a budget of $280 million dollars to attempt to remedy a legacy nightmare left from the days of the notorious Mr. Fluffy debacle of the 1960's and 70's over disastrous loose-fill asbestos insulation in 1,000 houses. Details of the voluntary buy, knock and sell scheme were revealed last summer and the Fair Trading loose-fill asbestos insulation task force has been dealing with the fallout. Homeowners have until Monday, August 1st, 2016 to register with the watchdog. Every property that tests positive for asbestos will be entered into the Loose-Fill Asbestos Register, LFAR.
