Ashish Mahajan Joins PenFed Credit Union as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Data
Former TD Bank executive will lead newly created Enterprise Data Management Function
TYSONS, Va., Oct. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PenFed Credit Union today announced Ashish Mahajan has joined the nation's second largest federal credit union as its first Senior Vice President of Enterprise Data. Mahajan will be responsible for developing Enterprise Data Management (EDM) functions including data strategy, governance, and futuristic capabilities for analytics and business intelligence. He will report to PenFed's First Senior Executive Vice President Lisa Jennings.
Mahajan's work will form the data foundation to provision of high-quality data and establish the build of capabilities for deep analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Mahajan joins PenFed from TD Bank where he served as Senior Executive and Senior Vice President of Data Management and Technologies. With a career that spans over 21 years, Mahajan has spent the last 18 years leading data management transformations and successfully monetizing data. Prior to TD Bank, he held senior positions at PNC Bank, General Motors, and Deloitte Consulting.
Within the banking industry, Mahajan has led the build of data assets and capabilities that have enabled delivery of high-quality, integrated and governed data for risk, and regulatory and financial compliance initiatives such as Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), Dodd-Frank, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), liquidity management, and others.
As a data management leader and visionary, he has been instrumental in evolving the must-have, foundational data capabilities to revenue producing solutions like big data, data lab, and analytics environments for both cross-sell and upsell opportunities, cost avoidance, customer analytics, and credit card fraud analytics.
Mahajan holds a Masters of Science and Engineering in Bio-Medical Engineering from University of Memphis, and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India.
