Association for Financial Professionals Welcomed Largest Class of New Certified Treasury Professionals in History

974 New Certified Treasury Professionals across 48 countries were added in 2024.

ROCKVILLE, Md., March 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) welcomed 974 new Certified Treasury Professionals (CTPs) in 2024, the largest class of new CTPs in history. The 2024 class of CTPs included treasury professionals from Fortune 500 companies such as Caterpillar Inc., Intel Corporation, Nike, Inc., Oracle Corporation and Procter & Gamble.

The new CTPs came from 48 countries, with the greatest number hailing from Canada, Egypt, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. They joined a global network of CTPs that spans 84 countries.

Interest in the CTP certification has continued to grow among treasury professionals, with 2024 seeing the largest number of new applicants and total candidates registered to take the CTP exam in history.

For treasury professionals, the CTP certification is a powerful differentiator in a tough job market, as it provides effective preparation for on-the-job responsibilities and validates competency in core functions. Ninety-six percent of CTPs say they would recommend the credential to their peers.

Employer demand for CTPs is strong, with over 80% of Fortune 500 companies employing CTPs. The high demand for CTPs also translates into higher salaries for treasury professionals with the certification. A treasury analyst with a CTP certification can earn 15% more than their non-certified peers, according to the 2024 AFP Compensation and Benefits Survey.
