ASSOULINE AND ROC NATION COLLABORATE WITH ARTIST DANIEL ARSHAM TO CREATE A UNIQUE $100,000 LIMITED EDITION BOOK

NEW YORK, Feb. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Assouline and Roc Nation announce a groundbreaking collaboration with celebrated visual artist Daniel Arsham to produce an exclusive Special Limited Edition of The Book of HOV, priced at $100,000.

This extraordinary version of the already acclaimed book published in December 2024 reflects the immense cultural influence of JAY-Z. Daniel Arsham, the artist behind the iconic HOV Hands sculpture originally created for the immersive exhibition The Book of HOV: A Tribute, held at the Brooklyn Public Library in 2023, reinterprets this artistic vision in a new medium.

Limited to just five numbered copies, the Special Limited Edition is encased in an impressive white-bronze clamshell, which weighs 35 pounds and measures 15 x 18 x 4 inches. The case is crafted in Arsham's signature eroded style and features etchings of some of his most iconic lyrics. The title, "The Book of HOV," is presented in oversized embossed lettering, merging the artist's unique aesthetic with the significance of Shawn Carter's legacy.

"Music has this way of bringing you back to a particular moment in time. Some of the pieces I make feel like they mark a particular moment in time, and this collaboration really was one of them." - Daniel Arsham

Inside the sculptural case is a magnificent book bound in custom "JAY-Z blue" leather, featuring a silver-foil stamped tri-fold cover. This edition is a true masterpiece for collectors and art lovers alike. The tome commemorates and immortalizes the immersive installation at the Brooklyn Public Library, which showcased thousands of archived objects from all aspects of JAY-Z's professional life, including original recording masters, stage wear, interviews, videos, awards, and unseen photographs. Held from July to December 2023 The Book Of HOV: A Tribute exhibit attracted over 600,000 visitors, making it one of the largest public installations in U.S. history.

The Book of HOV features eight chapters, each titled after lines from JAY-Z's lyrics, detailing the pillars of Shawn Carter's influence, encompassing his artistry, entrepreneurship, and activism. In addition to nearly 700 images, the book includes in-depth essays on each chapter's theme, providing context for the icon's achievements and cultural impact. This incredibly rare edition is not only a museum-quality piece but also a significant cultural artifact. Each copy is hand-signed by Arsham.

As part of this exceptional collaboration, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Special Limited Edition will be donated to the Brooklyn Public Library, supporting the ongoing impact of the arts in the community.
