Aston Launches Global Dividend Mutual Fund Managed By Toronto-Based Guardian Capital

CHICAGO, April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Aston Asset Management, LP (Aston) announced today that it has launched the ASTON/Guardian Capital Global Dividend Fund (AGCNX: Class N/ AGCDX: Class I), which invests in a diversified portfolio of both U.S. and non-U.S. dividend-paying securities across all market capitalizations.

Aston will act as the investment adviser to the Fund while Guardian Capital LP (Guardian Capital) will act as subadviser, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Fund.  Guardian Capital has been managing institutional assets since 1962, and the firm believes the right combination of dividend growth and yield has the potential to drive superior investment returns.

The Fund employs bottom-up analysis to look for firms with the ability to grow earnings and a willingness to increase dividends. The portfolio managers analyze stocks globally to focus on the best ideas within sectors, regardless of geography. 

The Fund will be managed by Srikanth Iyer, Managing Director and Head of Systematic Strategies at Guardian Capital; and Fiona Wilson, CFA, Portfolio Manager at Guardian Capital.
