Dr. Gupta brings dedicated breast oncology expertise to Astrin at a pivotal moment as the company scales Certitude™ Breast, a first-of-its-kind, non-imaging blood test for early detection. Her appointment follows the publication of Astrin's landmark peer-reviewed study, "Development and Validation of a Machine-Learning Deep Plasma Proteome Classifier for Early Stage Breast Cancer Detection," which demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity for early-stage breast cancer.

Dr. Tanya Gupta is a practicing medical oncologist whose research has focused on advancing the understanding and treatment of breast cancer. She completed the combined bachelor's and M.D. program at the University of California, San Diego, graduating summa cum laude and earning induction into the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford University, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and went on to serve as Chief Resident before completing her fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology, also at Stanford.

Dr. Gupta previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and breast oncologist at Stanford, where she was a co-investigator on numerous breast oncology clinical trials. In 2020, she received the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)/Conquer Cancer Foundation Bonadonna Breast Cancer Research Grant for her work as co-investigator on a clinical trial evaluating changes in circulating tumor DNA in patients with early-stage, high-risk breast cancer.
