The homage to Fenway Park in Boston has received more than 11.6 million views on YouTube, and is now also the most viewed video on YouTube in the parks history on the popular video sharing website.
The video was added to The National Baseball Hall of Fame library in August, and can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2U5euOQiaZE
Superstar David Ortiz sent out a "tweet" about the video when it debuted on YouTube, as did baseball player Will Middlebrooks. It was also discussed on "The Today Show," as hosts laughed while enjoying it, a clip of "The Today Show" segment can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rM4SElvidg as part of the shows "Spanning The World" segment.
The music video is the first of its kind ever to be filmed entirely at Fenway Park by a solo artist. Its writer intends on writing a book about the experience of putting the music video together, and what it took to get it done. It will also detail what happened after the music video was released.
As baseball season is just around the corner, the video has been receiving more attention than it had through the off-season, as was expected.
"We are glad that we were able to accomplish not only the first music video ever to be filmed at Fenway Park by a solo artist in its existence, but something that will outlive us all. That truly is the goal when you come right down to it, and its legacy. William Shatner is now an eternal part of that fields legacy, as is everyone else who was involved in the video," says Enrique M. Grullon, an executive of H Infinity Books, Inc. who will publish the book that discusses just how that music video came to be.
"The book will be a very interesting portrayal of the politics of dealing with the management of the team the video promoted, and the rest you'll just have to read when you see the book. It's fascinating, to say the least," says Grullon. "Beyond fascinating. Every fan will most definitely want to read this book."
The book will be released in July, 2014 by H Infinity Books, and will be available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and iBooks. An audio book will also be released.
The song "At Fenway" is now available at Amazon.com and iTunes, as well as everywhere else that music is sold.
"As baseball season nears, it's getting a massive spike that we had not expected," says Grullon.
