ATD Appoints Stuart Schuette As New Chief Executive Officer

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- American Tire Distributors announced today that Stuart Schuette will join the company as Chief Executive Officer effective January 4, 2016 replacing William "Bill" Berry who announced his retirement earlier this year.  Mr. Schuette most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of US Foods, the second largest foodservice distribution company in America with over $23 billion in annual revenue and approximately 24,000 employees.  US Foods offers more than 350,000 nationally branded products along with its own exclusively branded items across multiple food and non-food categories.  In his role as Chief Operating Officer of US Foods, Mr. Schuette oversaw the operational and administrative functions across over 60 locations servicing more than 250,000 customers nationwide.

During Mr. Schuette's 20-year career at US Foods, he held a variety of executive Sales, Finance and Operations positions and, most recently, was critically involved in the transformation of the US Foods brand, sales and functional organization.  Prior to joining US Foods, Mr. Schuette was an executive at Martin Brower, a subsidiary of Reyes Holdings, LLC, and the world's largest distributor of products to more than 8,400 McDonald's restaurants.  Mr. Schuette began his career at Arthur Andersen in Chicago.  Mr. Schuette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and business administration from Illinois State University.
