NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --- Basketball stars Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets and Ronnie Brewer of the Chicago Bulls are joining forces with The Rogosin Institute to get the word out about three of the most prevalent health problems of Americans: diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity – and the risks that they pose for kidney disease.  Kidney disease affects an estimated 11.5 percent of Americans, with more than 527,000 people having such little kidney function that they require dialysis three times a week to stay alive.*

Humphries and Brewer appear in public service announcements that are part of The Rogosin Institute's All the Right Moves Good Health Initiative. The program is designed to help people avoid the risk factors for kidney disease with lifestyle changes and screenings for early detection. Ronnie Brewer has seen friends and relatives suffer from diseases that could have been avoided. "If I can convince just a few people to change their eating and exercise habits and get checked out by their doctors, I feel like I've really made a difference," he said. "I watched my grandmother suffer from diabetes. It's hard to watch someone you love suffer from something that might  be prevented."
