WASHINGTON, Aug. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AtSite, Inc., an innovative integrator of Building Performance Solutions, announced that prominent Washington business leader Raul Fernandez has joined its board of directors. After just recently closing a Series A financing round, AtSite has begun assembling an industry-leading Board of Directors to help guide its growth and shape its business.
"We are very fortunate and excited to have Raul join the board," said Davor Kapelina, President and CEO, AtSite. "His overall business acumen and visionary technology leadership will help us accelerate the innovation we are delivering to clients."
Mr. Fernandez is Chairman of ObjectVideo, a developer of video analytics software for automated security surveillance, and a Special Advisor to growth equity firm General Atlantic Partners. In 1991, he founded Proxicom and served as CEO of the highly profitable website development startup, which went public in 1999. Fernandez is also Vice Chairman of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, owner of Washington professional teams the NBA's Wizards, the NHL's Capitals and the WNBA's Mystics, as well as the Verizon Center.
"The intersection of buildings, technology and energy has been a space of interest to me in the past few years," said Mr. Fernandez. "Joining AtSite's board during this stage in their growth is interesting for a number of reasons. Primarily because I see many similarities to Proxicom in the way AtSite is helping clients integrate from a very fragmented industry."
AtSite helps clients develop, optimize and maintain high-performing buildings. With two decades of expertise, AtSite offers integrated solutions for building owners and operators using advances in smart building technologies, energy, environmental sustainability, and building management. The U.S. Green Building Council forecasts the market for green building-related services to increase from $90 billion to $173.5 billion by 2015.
Select current AtSite clients include Adventist HealthCare, Choice Hotels, Monday Properties, Five Star Quality Care, Motion Picture Association of America, Sidwell Friends School and Passion Food restaurants.
