AT&T Partners With Parents Step Ahead to Educate Parents on Technology

DALLAS, Jan. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T recently contributed $10,000 to Parents Step Ahead in support of their initiatives that educate parents about the importance of technology in their children's overall education.

"On behalf of Parents Step Ahead, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to  AT&T for this generous contribution," said Lupita Colmenero, founder and chair of Parents Step Ahead. "With this donation, we will be able to fulfill our mission by serving more than 3,000 families this year."

Parents Step Ahead offers free seminars for parents. During the seminars, Parents Step Ahead presents dynamic speakers and educators on topics ranging from computer and digital literacy, internet safety, college preparation, health and financial issues, communicating with love, among other topics.

"At AT&T, we are strongly committed to enriching and strengthening underserved, diverse communities through education and technology. For 2012, Parents Step Ahead has lined up seven parent education programs in Dallas, Irving, Richardson, Haltom City and Garland. In addition to seminars, attendees will be given free meals, free childcare assistance and a chance to win a personal computer system. The first event for the year will be on January 12 in Irving, Texas.
