ABOUT AUDREY E. FITZGERALD
Ms. Fitzgerald has over 50 years experience in the field of education. She was the owner of Reading Learning Lab and specialized in Language Arts and World Language. Though retired from the learning lab, Ms. Fitzgerald continues to serve as a reading specialist and staff consultant. She also tutors in all subjects, including math. Ms. Fitzgerald was honored for being an outstanding site leader in the state of Michigan for overseeing the implementation and progress of Reading Recovery in school districts. This is a successful nationwide program developed to assist first graders having difficulty learning to read reach grade level by the end of first grade. It is very structured and is implemented by highly trained staff. This intense program was monitored by Ms. Fitzgerald. She worked with two small inner city school districts. Ms. Fitzgerald received a B.A. in 1955 and an M.A. in 1959 from Western Michigan University. She was born in Chicago on August 15, 1934. In her spare time she enjoys reading and travel.
