PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- HDS Global, a technology startup that will define and deliver next-generation ecommerce, announced today that Austin Sharp has joined the company as SVP of Retail Operations.
Mr. Sharp will spearhead the development and launch of HDS' retail business, which offers many benefits over today's ecommerce experiences, including:
- Fresher-than-store groceries: HDS will bypass physical stores to deliver groceries faster, safer, and with higher quality and personalization.
- Convenience of one-cart / same-day delivery / simple returns: Consumers will shop for groceries and general merchandise, same-day delivery will be available without sacrificing store prices, and returns can be handed to the HDS courier at the next delivery.
- Eco-friendly ecommerce: HDS will employ reusable totes, carefully packaged without wasteful fillers.
Most recently, Mr. Sharp was the President and GM of The National Food Laboratory, acquired in 2015 by LabCorp ($9B revenue), where he grew the business substantially while focusing efforts on product design and food safety. Prior to The National Food Laboratory, Austin held executive roles with Clif Bar, Francis Coppola Winery, Jim Beam Brands, Citigroup and TastingRoom.com. Mr. Sharp will leverage his 20+ years of experience to build out the HDS retail platform, partnering with like-minded companies around the world.
