Avison Young appoints Josh Peyton Managing Director of Washington, DC Metro region
Industry veteran will lead day-to-day operations for company's three regional offices
TORONTO, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Mark E. Rose, Chair and CEO of Avison Young, the world's fastest-growing commercial real estate services firm, announced today the appointment of Avison Young Principal Josh Peyton as Managing Director of the company's Washington, DC region.
Effective immediately, Peyton will manage the day-to-day operations of Avison Young's Washington, DC, Tysons Corner, VA and Suburban Maryland offices, and facilitate the company's ongoing expansion in the Washington-Baltimore Corridor.
Peyton brings 13 years of commercial real estate experience to bear on his leadership role at Avison Young. He joined the Washington, DC office in March 2010 as a Principal. Prior to joining Avison Young, he was a Senior Vice-President with Grubb & Ellis Company.

Avison Young announced yesterday that Lipton, after spending nearly six years as Managing Director of the Washington region and overseeing a strong period of growth, will lend his expertise to national expansion and management as Chief Operating Officer for the U.S.

Peyton started his commercial real estate career in 2002 as a tenant representation specialist at Transwestern, where he provided his clients with full-service commercial real estate counsel including strategic planning, portfolio management, lease negotiations and space planning. He joined Grubb & Ellis in 2006 and, as a member of the tenant advisory group specializing in tenant representation and new business development, received the rising star award for the DC region in 2008.
During his career, Peyton has successfully negotiated office transactions for a diverse client base, including Fortune 500 companies, law firms, associations and non-profits. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Marymount University and sits on its Board of Visitors.

Avison Young opened its first Washington, DC office in November 2009 with three employees. Since that time, the firm has acquired Appian Realty Advisors, LLC; Millennium Realty Advisors, LLC; Realty Management Company; and McShea & Company, Inc. in the region, and opened additional offices in Tysons Corner, VA (2010) and Suburban Maryland (2012). The company now has a total of 250 employees in its Washington, DC, Tysons Corner and Suburban Maryland offices.
Over the past six years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 67 offices and from 300 to more than 1,900 real estate professionals in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Today's appointment comes on the heels of Avison Young announcing yesterday the promotions of Mark Fieder to Chief Operating Officer, Canadian Operations, and Keith Lipton to Chief Operating Officer, U.S. Operations.
