Award-winning Journalist Dan Harris To Speak At NJCU On February 10; All Welcome
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Jan. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dan Harris, co-anchor of ABC's "Nightline" and "Good Morning America" weekend edition, will speak at New Jersey City University on Tuesday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m., in Margaret Williams Theatre of Hepburn Hall, 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
The free lecture is part of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) Broadcast Speaker Series at New Jersey City University, which offers inspiring stories of success and actionable steps in leadership.
Mr. Harris's lecture, "10% Happier" will be drawn from his New York Times bestseller, 10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Really Works--a True Story," and will cover happiness, mindfulness, and the balance between ambition and contentment.
The winner of an Emmy Award for his "Nightline" report, "How to Buy a Child in Ten Hours," and an Edward R. Murrow Award for his story about a young Iraqi man who received help to move to America, Mr. Harris is also a regular contributor to "World News with Diane Sawyer" and "20/20."
Mr. Harris has reported from all over the globe, covering many of the world's top stories, including ones about mass shootings, natural disasters, war, child slaves, and endangered animals. He has resided with an isolated Amazonian Indian tribe, confronted the head of Philip Morris International over the sale of cigarettes to Indonesian minors, conducted one of the first interviews with former pastor Ted Haggard after his scandal, and spent 48 hours locked up in solitary confinement for a story about whether this form of incarceration is inhumane.
