Award Winning Reduced Emissions Fuel Program Expands
Strive® Fuel Program Continues to Change the Status Quo
DALLAS, Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In partnership with The Arbor Day Foundation, affiliates of Keep America Beautiful, and other partners, award winning ALON Brands with GreenPrint LLC are proud to announce the continued expansion of the Strive® Reduced Emissions Fuel program to Big Spring, Texas starting October 12, 2016. Strive® is the first sustainability program of its kind in West Texas, and can be found at over 110 ALON 7-Eleven gas stations across Midland and Odessa, T.X., Lubbock, T.X. and Albuquerque, N.M.
Recently honored as Convenience Store News 2016 Fuels Leader of the Year, ALON 7-Eleven's commitment to the environment is doing great things in its local communities. The annual award is presented to one convenience store retailer each year that goes above and beyond, displaying extraordinary vision and leadership in the development and marketing of innovative fuel solutions for its customers. As CSNews reported, "ALON is being honored specifically for its efforts to add carbon-reduction fueling stations in Texas and New Mexico, via a collaboration with GreenPrint's Strive® program."
The Strive® Fuel program allows ALON's customers to support their local communities and environment by reducing their tailpipe emissions just by filling up their gas tanks at ALON 7-Eleven. For every gallon of gas sold at ALON 7-Eleven participating locations, ALON plants trees in local parks and neighborhoods and invests in carbon reduction projects to neutralize harmful emissions by up to 30 percent.
In a recent publication by IRI, John McIndoe, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, shared one of the top three ways in which marketers can establish and grow individual relationships with customers. McIndoe stated, "They need a relentless focus on bringing new value to customers not only from a price perspective, but from product benefits, convenience, and an overall shopping experience." Strive® aims to do just that, by enhancing ALON's exceptional brand value, and by creating connections with ALON's customers by promoting sustainability, community, and feeling good about the fuel they choose to pump in the most convenient way possible.

The Strive® Reduced Emissions Fuel program has already neutralized over 55 million pounds of carbon dioxide and equivalent greenhouse gasses and has planted over 6,000 trees since the program's launch last year.
