Axiros Partners with Stadtwerke Konstanz to Bring Zero-Touch IoT Device Management to Germany

MUNICH, Dec. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Axiros, a leader in device management and IoT solutions for service providers, enterprises, and OEMs, today announced that it has partnered with German utility provider Stadtwerke Konstanz to provide Axiros-powered Automated Configuration Servers to serve utilities, telecommunications providers, and the German utility network G-FIT.

These partners as well as G-FIT plan to use AXESS.ACS as a hosted solution for their residential and enterprise end customers' CPE and routers, offering zero-touch auto configuration and general device management.

"Over the last two years, we've partnered with Axiros to provide our customers with superior device management," commented Roland Stader, Division Manager of AAT & Telecommunications for Stadtwerke Konstanz.  "Combining Axiros' excellent AXESS.ACS product with their deep knowledge and support of integration has guaranteed our success. Using the Axiros flexible and open technology management platform, we transformed our in-house solution to a hosted solution for other utilities, telecommunications providers and also for G-FIT, offering a future-proof business model for the world of IoT."

Stadtwerke Konstanz is building up their technology business to expand the capacity of their high security data center for IoT services; the Axiros/Stadtwerke Konstanz partnership is an excellent example of how IoT is poised to take off for utilities in the future. Each partner has the ability to use its choice of CPE and routers due to Axiros' open vendor platform for integration of additional models. To start, Stadtwerke Konstanz and Axiros will work to configure the TR-069 protocol to manage well-known German AVM – DSL/FTTx FritzBox CPEs on the partner networks.

"We attribute much of this deployment success to sharing superior systems and technology," commented Kurt Peterhans, CEO of Axiros. "With Stadtwerke Konstanz responsible for customer service and system integration, and Axiros offering third-level support and the development stream, the hosted ACS device management for the devices has a very positive business case predicted over the next 12-24 months."

Recently, Axiros' Chief Strategy Officer, Alfeo Pareschi, delivered an insightful keynote address to the 2nd EAI International Conference on IoT as a Service (IoTaaS) in Rome, where he addressed the topics of security, future technology developments, market demands and interoperability.
