AXS Law Continues Strategic Expansion With "BigLaw" Partner & Healthcare Litigator Audrey Pumariega

Former McDermott partner brings 15 years of experience, deep healthcare knowledge and a winning record in high-stakes business disputes.

MIAMI, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- AXS Law today announced that Audrey Pumariega has joined the firm in Miami, adding a seasoned commercial and healthcare litigator whose career spans nearly 15 years, including as a longtime partner at McDermott Will & Schulte.

Audrey will invest in and expand her healthcare work within AXS Law's unique platform. Pumariega has substantial industry experience involving hospitals and health systems, physician groups, health insurers, management services organizations, ambulatory surgery centers and other healthcare businesses. She has appeared before the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and the Florida Board of Medicine and handles physician noncompetes, medical staff privileging, payor-provider and reimbursement disputes, healthcare M&A disputes, telehealth, fraud and abuse, and regulatory matters.

False Claims Act and qui tam litigation will be a particular focus of her practice at AXS. Having defended multiple qui tam matters, she will work alongside AXS lawyers in Washington, D.C., including longtime Department of Justice veterans, to represent clients either bringing or defending significant False Claims Act actions. Audrey also has broad-based commercial litigation success, having represented major financial institutions in some of the largest fraud schemes in U.S. history and defeating multiple lawsuits against international music artist Armando Perez, known as Pitbull.
