The Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education is an institutional membership organization for colleges and universities seeking to increase capabilities and capacities for developing entrepreneurship education. Members of The Collaborative share the belief that institutions acting together achieve more than each working alone toward its entrepreneurial mission and goals.
"We are impressed by FLAME University and Université Laval's exemplary efforts to advance entrepreneurship education at their institutions and thrilled to formally recognize and celebrate them with these awards," said Amir Reza, Dean of the Babson Academy & Global Education.
Collaborative Spotlight Award
Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada) received the Collaborative Spotlight Award, accepted by Maripier Tremblay, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration and Scientific Director of Université Laval.
The Spotlight Award is presented annually to a Collaborative member institution that demonstrates excellence and innovation in entrepreneurship education. The award highlights a member institution's commitment to enhancing entrepreneurship education and a willingness to share and promulgate best practice and new possibilities. The award is not for an entire program related to entrepreneurship, but rather for a particular innovation in entrepreneurship education that is making a significant impact.
Université Laval received the award in recognition of the successful launch two years ago and subsequent impact of its Entrepreneurship Academy. This Academy assists students and alumni to launch and grow high potential businesses with the support of the highly regarded Université Laval staff and has resulted in the creation of twenty-six businesses to date.
The Scientific Director, Maripier Tremblay, was honoured to receive this award which recognizes the excellence of the Académie de la relève entrepreneuriale-CDPQ program. "Université Laval has long been invested in entrepreneurship, but more than ever committed to supporting pedagogical innovation in order to develop entrepreneurs and agents of change wishing to contribute to the well-being of society on all plans. This honour is shared with all the colleagues and the partners who made it possible," she said.
