Bachman Lake-Area Outreach Casa Del Lago Announces First Executive Director
DALLAS, March 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Casa del Lago, the ministry to the Bachman Lake community, announced today it has hired Josh Geiger as its first executive director.
Geiger has deep roots in the Bachman Lake Community, having worked as a church planter and pastor of Cristo Rey Presbyterian Church from 2002 to 2015. During those years, he experienced firsthand the rich community in Northwest Dallas, as well as the brokenness and challenges created by poverty. Those experiences led to a vision for a new organization that would work alongside Cristo Rey and other churches to serve the educational, material, and emotional needs of the community. He brought this vision to a group of committed leaders who started Casa del Lago in 2014. Shortly after its start, Geiger and his family moved to Los Angeles, where he served for two years as a senior director on the executive leadership team at Pacific Crossroads Church.
Eliot Kerlin, Casa del Lago board chairman, said, "In just over three years, Casa has served hundreds of people in our community in many ways including Summer Youth Corp, an integrated early childhood education curriculum, and English as a Second Language classes. Casa has many additional opportunities to serve the Bachman Lake area, and we are thrilled that Josh will lead this growth. His background, experience and heart make him a perfect choice for this position."
"It is tremendously exciting to see how God has blessed the vision and the efforts of everyone working at Casa. We have a terrific staff, selfless volunteers, a committed board and advisory board, and wonderful partnerships with multiple organizations serving this community. I am excited to build on this great foundation and further Casa's important mission," said Geiger
Josh is blessed to be married to Shannon and to be the father of four great kids. Ordained as a pastor since 2002, Josh earned a bachelor's degree in international relations from Stanford University, where he rowed crew, and a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary. Growing up overseas set in motion his lifelong passion for cross-cultural relationships and welcoming the outsider. When not working, Josh can often be found swimming laps, working out, or reading Harry Potter with his kids.
