Bachman-Turner Overdrive Tribute to Close THE 2014 JUNO AWARDS as Final Details Revealed for Sunday's Broadcast on CTV

TORONTO, March 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ - CTV and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today the final details for this Sunday's broadcast of THE 2014 JUNO AWARDS, including the composition for the tribute to Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees, Winnipeg's own Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO). The tribute, which closes the CTV broadcast, will feature previously announced band The Sheepdogs along with several 2014 JUNO nominees, including East Coast rocker Matt Mays, country rocker Tim Hicks, and Travis Good, guitarist for The Sadies. The all-star band will perform BTO's classic 1973 hits, "Let It Ride" and "Takin' Care of Business." All four members of BTO are expected to be in attendance to enjoy the special tribute performance in their honour. THE 2014 JUNO AWARDS airs live from Winnipeg's MTS Centre this Sunday, March 30 at 8 p.m. CT/9 p.m. ET on CTV and CTV GO.

In addition, the final presenters for CTV's broadcast were also announced, including singer-songwriter Jim Cuddy and international hit-maker Trevor Guthrie, both 2014 JUNO Award-nominees. They join previously announced presenters A Tribe Called Red, Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida, Commander Chris Hadfield, July Talk, Kardinal Offishall, The Sadies, Sarah McLachlan, Shad, the Honourable Shelly Glover, Small Town Pistols, and Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Gold Medallists in Women's Curling, skip Jennifer Jones and her team, Kaitlyn Lawes, Jill Officer, and Dawn McEwen.

CTV and CARAS also revealed additional details for the broadcast performances, including the opening number: a world premiere, mash-up performance by Classified, performing "Three Foot Tall," and Serena Ryder performing "What I Wouldn't Do." It was also announced that Tegan and Sara will perform their smash-hit "Closer" with a choir comprised of fans from across North America, led by Toronto-based group Choir! Choir! Choir! As well, viral-video sensations Walk Off The Earth are set to rock the MTS Centre with Winnipeg's all-female hand drum group, Red Robe Women's Drum Society.

Performers on Canada's biggest night in music include Brett Kissel, Classified, Dean Brody, Gord Bamford, Matt Mays, OneRepublic, Robin Thicke, Sarah McLachlan, Serena Ryder, The Sheepdogs, Tegan and Sara, and Walk Off The Earth. Additionally, Arcade Fire is confirmed to take part in the broadcast with an exclusive, television premiere, taped performance from South America.
