HARTFORD, Conn., Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BACK9NETWORK, the 24/7 golf lifestyle channel, officially launched yesterday with a ceremony at its Hartford-based studios just prior to its noon debut in 20M homes on DIRECTV, channel 262. The ceremony included a ribbon-cutting with local government dignitaries including Shawn Wooden, President, Hartford City Council, Adam Cloud, Hartford City Treasurer, Ox Griebel, President, Metro Hartford Alliance, Ted Carroll, President, Leadership of Greater Hartford, and William Petit, MD, President, Petit Family Foundation. BACK9NETWORK hit the airwaves at noon ET with its flagship hour of golf, pop culture, debate and entertainment entitled "The Turn." The show is co-hosted by Shane Bacon, Lou Holder and Erica Bachelor and airs daily at noon, 3, and 7 PM Eastern. In its inaugural year BACK9NETWORK will air nearly 1,100 hours of original programming. Along with "The Turn," other signature daily studio shows for the network include "Off-Par," starring Matty Blake and Caite Upton (8 PM ET), and "The Clubhouse," featuring Jeff Rude, John Maginnes and Will Christien (10 PM ET).

The network's primetime lineup is highlighted by the debut of "AHMAD RASHAD," which premieres Tuesday at 9 PM ET with special guest actor/comedian Bill Murray. "AHMAD RASHAD" is one of three BACK9NETWORK 30-minute, original primetime series. Others include "Golf Treasures," and "Ball Hogs," which will air weeknights at 9 PM ET.

In addition, BACK9NETWORK will utilize Charles Everett and Universo Pereira as network co-hosts, and Alexis Morgan and Katie Sundseth as lifestyle correspondents. All will offer personalized, satirical, and at times brutally honest opinions on what's trending in golf on "The Turn," "Off Par" and "The Clubhouse."
