Backpack Health Appoints Sara Aswegan Chief Commercial Officer

DOVER, Mass., Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Backpack Health (www.backpackhealth.com), a mobile and cloud-based app that helps people with chronic, serious and rare health concerns better manage and access personal health information, care and communication, announced today that Sara Aswegan has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director.

Aswegan will lead initiatives that expand Backpack Health brand visibility, enhance user experience and forge new partnerships and affiliations with health organizations, pharma and medical device companies, and advocacy groups and foundations.

Aswegan brings more than 20 years of global leadership experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.  A rare disease expert, her experience within medical and biotech companies and patient foundations on market entry, stakeholder management and commercial strategy will elevate Backpack Health's conversations within the health ecosystem.  Aswegan served previously as Senior Vice President for Ultragenyx, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on bringing novel treatments of rare and ultra-rare diseases to the market.  She served as Vice President and Franchise Head at Shire AG, where she oversaw the global MPS Franchise and later served as Vice President and Global Strategy Head for their GI/Hepatology Franchise.
