Bailess Law Firm Files Fifth Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Chuck E. Cheese in West Virginia
Lawsuit filed by Bailess Law Firm alleges pregnant employee subjected to increased harassment, revealing workplace culture was anything but family-friendly
CHARLESTON, W.Va., Sept. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- A fifth lawsuit has been filed against Chuck E. Cheese, accusing the family entertainment and dining chain of fostering a sexually toxic workplace culture and ignoring repeated warnings about a manager's inappropriate behavior. In the new complaint, filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court, a former employee describes her experience working at the restaurant while pregnant and raises alarm bells about systemic failures within the company's national operations.
Zea Wilfong worked for CEC Entertainment for six years and rose through the ranks to become an assistant manager at the location in Charleston, West Virginia. She claims that she endured repeated sexual harassment by her supervisor while working at the restaurant. According to the complaint, Wilfong alleges her manager became more physically and verbally aggressive toward her when he learned she was pregnant. The complaint states the manager touched her without consent, often invaded her personal space, and made unwelcome comments about her appearance during her pregnancy.
In addition to the claims addressing the manager's misconduct, the complaint details a separate incident where another assistant manager exposed himself to Wilfong while she worked in the manager's office at the restaurant, further contributing to the culture of a sexually hostile work environment.
This lawsuit brought by Wilfong marks the latest in a string of sexual harassment complaints filed against the Irving, Texas-based company. Bailess Law Firm has filed four other sexual harassment lawsuits against Chuck E. Cheese since August 2024, underscoring what the firm calls an "abusive and hostile work environment that no reasonable person could endure." One suit filed in February by another employee claims the general manager acted sexually aggressive toward her at the restaurant by discussing lewd acts, invading her personal space with unwanted touching, and alluding to wanting to have sex with her because she was pregnant. "No woman should have to endure sexual harassment in the workplace while pregnant, especially at a restaurant that promotes a safe and family-friendly environment," says attorney Todd Bailess, who represents all five plaintiffs, including Wilfong, in separate lawsuits against Chuck E. Cheese. "Chuck E. Cheese ignored the red flags and continued to allow a known sexual harasser to serve as its General Manager. In doing so, Chuck E. Cheese betrayed the trust of Ms. Wilfong, its employees, and its customers."
This case is Zea J. Wilfong v. CEC Entertainment, LLC, d/b/a Chuck E. Cheese's, and Ryan Slade, an individual, Civil Action No. CC-20-2025-C-1046 in The Circuit Court of Kanawha County, West Virginia. A copy of the complaint can be accessed here.
