A recent survey conducted by Bailey Nurseries found that more than 70 percent of respondents experience angst toward planting and caring for their plants, making a text program especially necessary to bring accessibility to the home garden.

"Expanding on last year's successful text program, we continue to put planting tips and best practices directly into the hands of 'yardeners,' which is what we consider the modern homeowner who puts most of their emphasis on curb appeal rather than traditional gardening," said Bailey Nurseries spokesman Ryan McEnaney. "While our plants are easy to care for, the regular text reminders offer timely plant care tips – without any spam or ads – to keep blooms healthy and vibrant." 

To opt into the text program users can text 730-95 with one of the of the following options:

Digital reminders will include tips such as:

• When and how to prune in the spring
• When to fertilize and mulch

Let's Ask Amy Offers Answers to Tough Questions

In addition, Bailey Nurseries has launched "Let's Ask Amy" under the First Editions® Collection, which includes more than 125 premium shrubs, trees, roses and more.
