BOSTON, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bain & Company today announced the appointment of Jeff Haxer as global head of its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Divestitures practice. The move reinforces Bain's commitment to helping clients navigate complex transactions and achieve lasting results, including through the firm's AI-powered solutions.
Bain's clients across sectors are seeking new ways to create competitive advantages through dealmaking, integrations and separations. As Global Head of M&A and Divestitures, Jeff will spearhead the firm's efforts to continue helping companies build and execute a repeatable M&A model and guide them in deciding where to grow and what to shed through joint ventures, divestitures and spinoffs.
"Jeff has an incredible track record of achieving commercial success for our clients in complex integrations and spin-offs, advising on portfolio strategy and then diving in deep to create value in execution," said François Faelli, global head of capabilities at Bain & Company. "His hands-on operational expertise and passion for reinventing solutions for the AI-era positions him well to continue the M&A and Divestitures practice's mission of helping companies create growth engines and sustained value."
Based in Chicago, Jeff is a member of Bain's Healthcare & Life Sciences practice and served as the firm's Global Solution Leader for both its merger integration and divestitures and spin-offs offerings. He has deep expertise advising corporate and private equity clients on large, complex global integrations, spin-offs and divestitures. In addition to healthcare and life sciences, Jeff's client work has spanned industries including automotive, insurance, distribution, packaging, retail, restaurant and agriculture.
Jeff succeeds Les Baird, who headed Bain's M&A and Divestitures practice since 2018. Under Les's leadership, the practice more than doubled in size and built Signal℠ by Bain, an AI-powered program management platform designed to help clients coordinate complex integrations and separations, track synergies and accelerate critical decisions.
"M&A continues to play a critical role in how companies transform, compete and grow, and the opportunities ahead for our clients are significant," said Jeff Haxer. "Building on Les's strong leadership, I'm honored to lead the practice into its next chapter and work alongside our global teams to help clients pursue ambitious growth strategies, execute transactions with confidence and create lasting value."
Additionally, Sinead Mullen has been appointed Americas Regional Practice Lead for the M&A and Divestitures practice. Sinead has deep experience advising clients on complex merger integrations and led the advancement of Bain's people integration solution. Based in Denver, she is a member of the firm's M&A and Divestitures and Energy & Natural Resources practices and served as the firm's Global Practice Leader for Social Impact.
Sinead succeeds Colleen von Eckartsberg, under whose leadership and commercial focus the Americas M&A practice grew faster than the M&A market.
Bain's M&A and Divestitures practice combines rigorous analytical approaches and proprietary digital tools to help organizations build repeatable capabilities and improve transaction outcomes.
