Baker Hughes Announces November 2015 Rig Counts

HOUSTON, Dec. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE: BHI) announced today that the international rig count for November 2015 was 1,109, down 2 from the 1,111 counted in October 2015, and down 215 from the 1,324 counted in November 2014. The international offshore rig count for November 2015 was 259, down 11 from the 270 counted in October 2015, and down 82 from the 341 counted in November 2014.

The average U.S. rig count for November 2015 was 760, down 31 from the 791 counted in October 2015, and down 1,165 from the 1,925 counted in November 2014. The average Canadian rig count for November 2015 was 178, down 6 from the 184 counted in October 2015, and down 243 from the 421 counted in November 2014.

The worldwide rig count for November 2015 was 2,047, down 39 from the 2,086 counted in October 2015, and down 1,623 from the 3,670 counted in November 2014.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the U.S., Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of the U.S. and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.

The North American rig count is scheduled to be released at noon Central time on the last working day of each week. The international rig count is scheduled to be released on the fifth working day of the month at 5:00 a.m. Central time.
