Balance Bar® Teams Up With Fitness Icon Gabby Reece To Help Americans Shape Up For Summer
RONKONKOMA, N.Y., May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As Americans countdown to summer, Balance Bar® and fitness icon Gabrielle Reece are sharing advice for nutrition and wellness as part of The Balance Project, Balance Bar's® campaign to help Americans achieve more balance. It's no secret that regular exercise and a nutritious diet help keep us healthy, but according to research[1], these activities also help Americans achieve balance in their everyday life. After a long winter, when Americans are most likely to feel unbalanced[2], the arrival of warmer weather is the perfect opportunity to get back in shape and start feeling more balanced.
"I love this time of year; the weeks leading up to summer are when people start to evaluate how they're treating their body and what changes they can make to start feeling healthier and stronger," said Gabrielle Reece. "A nutritious diet and regular exercise do not just impact how you look on the outside, but also how you feel on the inside."
"At Balance Bar®, we believe that the better you treat your body, the more you'll be able to get out of each day and the more balanced you'll feel," said Bradley Charron, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Balance Bar. "It's our pleasure to be able to work with Gabby and share the smart choices she makes that help her feel her best."
To help Americans get ready for summer and feel more balanced, Reece shared some of her go-to shape up methods:
- Watch the Calendar: "Use summer for motivation to shape-up, but don't wait for June 21st. I personally like to keep a calendar on the wall in my kitchen to cross off the days as I countdown to bikini weather. The visual reminder – right where you eat! – is helpful in keeping you on track."
- Plan to Snack: "Take snacks like a Balance Bar® and fruit, wherever you go to prevent mindless eating. Balance Bars deliver balanced nutrition and enough protein to keep you satisfied and energized when you're on-the-go and in-between meals. If I have an afternoon workout planned, I make sure to have one of these handy an hour or so before so that I have plenty of energy to get a good workout in."
- Make it your own. "There is not one right way to get it done. There is the right way that works for you. When it comes to eating healthy find the foods you like and implement those into your daily diet. Same goes for exercise. If you hate the gym then find something outside that is manageable for you."
Some of Gabby's favorite workout moves can be done in your living room or backyard and are featured along with additional summer shape up tips on The Balance Project site at Project.Balance.com. The Balance Project is an online hub to share ideas, daily victories and challenges, and even have some fun as we embark on a journey to sustain balance.
Gabby will share more tips on how she gets in summer shape, as well as how she achieves balance, when she hosts a Summer Shape Up Twitter Party on May 19th at 4pm ET. Balance Bar® and other products will be given away to participants using the hashtag #BalanceShapeUp throughout the Twitter Party.
