Balboa Nephrology Medical Group, Inc. (BNMG) Receives Renal Physicians Association 2014 Exemplary Practice Award

ROCKVILLE, Md., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Renal Physicians Association (RPA) acknowledged the expertise and contributions of Balboa Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., based in San Diego, with its 2014 Exemplary Practice Award during the association's annual meeting, March 20-23, 2014, in Baltimore, Maryland. 

RPA President Dr. Robert Kossmann recognized the Balboa practice for its excellence in transplant care, home therapies, vascular access placement, clinical research, and patient mentor program known as Remend. Drs. Dylan Steer and Steven Steinberg along with Shaun Edelstein accepted the award on behalf of the 36-physician group who practices in 16 locations and are responsible for the care of 2,500 end-stage renal disease patients who receive life-saving dialysis in 34 outpatient facilities. Earlier in 2014 Balboa Nephrology Medical Group celebrated is 40-year anniversary. In addition to their commitment to their patients and families, the practitioners are politically engaged and meet with local officials in southern California to express concerns about physician payment and other issues affecting the delivery of quality patient care.

The RPA recognition awards were established to formally recognize and thank members and friends of the Association for their contributions to nephrology practice. The Exemplary Practice Award recognizes a nephrology practice that is uniquely incorporating and supporting suggested practices and strategic efforts of the RPA while meeting the needs of its community.
