"It was wonderful that the Israel Children's Centers had the opportunity to raise money for our kids in Israel at BallenIsles Country Club. This was only our second event ever held at the club and it was very successful. The new Sports Complex and Stadium Court are perfect for our exhibition format to showcase our young stars from the Israel Tennis Centers," ICC Team Coach Yoni Yair said.
"This was a terrific opportunity for our junior players and their families to meet the young Israeli athletes, play tennis with them and learn about the largest social service organization for children in Israel," Event Chair Shelly Friedman explained.
The fund raising event on March 6, at BallenIsles' state-of-the-art Sports Complex, presented a Davis cup match that featured junior players from BallenIsles, Christopher Mendivil, partner Maks Silagy and BallenIsles professionals Jay Berman and Ricardo Mendivil against the up-and-coming champions from Israel, 14-year-old Yossi Dahan currently ranked #4 in Israel and in the top fifty in Europe; 13-year-old Baraa Salamna; 10-year-old Gony Goldstein and ICC team coach Yaniv Sakira.
The Israel Children's Centers (ICC) is a charitable, 501(c) (3) organization which raises funds in the American philanthropic community to support the operations, facilities and programs of 14 Israel Tennis Centers (ITC) throughout Israel, from Kiryat Shmona to Beer Sheva. The programs promote the social, psychological and physical development of Israeli children, providing normalcy, recreation, guidance and self-confidence in a safe, nurturing environment.
