BALTIMORE, Sept. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- NWN, a leading AI-powered Technology Solutions Provider, Intel Corporation and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott officially opened the world's first AI Computer Resource Lab at the Greenmount Recreation Center in Baltimore, Md. This innovative lab was created in partnership with Baltimore Recreation and Parks to provide youth and seniors with access to cutting-edge artificial intelligence tools and training.
The lab is equipped with advanced AI PCs powered by Intel and fully managed by NWN. It is designed as a community hub for digital learning, career readiness, and innovation, serving thousands of Baltimore residents.
By investing in digital equity, workforce development, and student engagement, NWN and Intel hope to create a brighter future for the entire community.
"NWN is proud to bring cutting-edge AI technology and training directly to the Baltimore community," said Jim Sullivan, President & CEO of NWN. "This lab represents more than just access to powerful tools—it empowers students and seniors with the skills they need to thrive in a digital world."
"The City of Baltimore already has a relationship with NWN and it is nice to see that expanding to work with our recreation centers and youth," said Mayor Brandon Scott. "This lab is equipped with the best of the best technology, which our youth and community members deserve. Residents will be able to access state-of-the-art technology with a tailored curriculum to help build foundational knowledge in the growing field of AI. And even better, they will have this resource right in their neighborhood at no cost to them. By providing this access we are working to bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for learning, education and job training."
"Our journey here began with a bold idea several years ago: to use AI to help modernize the city's 911 system," said Andrew Gilman, Chief Marketing Officer of NWN. "That project sparked a deeper commitment to this community, notably hosting the world's first AI Athletics day last summer and now into a meaningful collaboration with Baltimore Recreation and Parks. We're proud to unveil a space where young people, and the broader community can explore the future. This lab is powered by NWN's AI-driven technology portfolio. It's designed to make advanced skills and digital creativity accessible to everyone. To the East Baltimore community, this AI lab is your space. Use it to learn, to build, and to imagine."
"Intel is proud to collaborate with NWN to bring AI skills to communities across Baltimore," said Sarah Kemp, Vice President, International Government Affairs, Intel Corporation. "By combining the power of our AI PCs with hands-on learning, we're helping make AI more accessible and inclusive—equipping today's youth with the tools and confidence they need to thrive in an AI-driven future."
The launch of the AI Computer Resource Lab builds on NWN and Intel's ongoing commitment to Baltimore. Last summer, the organizations partnered with the Baltimore Ravens and Greenmount Recreation Center to host the inaugural AI Athletics Day, introducing young people to the role of AI in sports, education, and everyday life.
This new lab represents the next major step in a long-term vision to position Baltimore as a national model for inclusive tech education and community-centered innovation.
