DAVIE, Fla., April 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --Bankers Healthcare Group, a leading provider of financial solutions for healthcare professionals, has been recognized in Sun Sentinel's Top Workplaces South Florida, earning first place in the mid-sized employer category. BHG climbed the list in both rank and employee count since placing no. 12 in the small employer category last year.
"It is truly an honor to once again be recognized as one of South Florida's top workplaces," said BHG President and Co-Founder Bob Castro. "At BHG, it's a priority to keep employees happy and engaged through workplace wellness initiatives and a vibrant corporate culture. The goal is that each and every person loves waking up and coming to work each day."
More than 40 leading publishers in the nation work with Top Workplaces to generate regional Top Workplaces lists. Top Workplaces rankings are based solely on feedback from employee surveys administered by WorkplaceDynamics, a research firm specializing in organizational health and workplace development.
This year in South Florida, over 9,000 employees of participating business, nonprofit and government organizations in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties were surveyed. Of those surveyed, 55 organizations made the 2016 top workplaces list, divided into large (400 or more employees), mid-sized (125 to 300) and small employer (fewer than 125) categories.
"The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it's all about fancy perks and benefits," said WorkplaceDynamics CEO Doug Claffey. "But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what's most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it's going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together." Claffey added, "Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn't have a shot at being named a Top Workplace."
BHG has won numerous awards for its focus on workplace wellness, including its recent achievement winning first place in the large company category of South Florida Business Journal's 2016 Best Places to Work program. In addition, the independent analysts at Great Place to Work recently certified BHG as a great workplace.
"As a growing organization that cultivates a high energy atmosphere, we are constantly in search for comparable new talents who aspire to thrive with BHG and see the company to success," said BHG Chief Operating Officer Eric Castro, Bob Castro's brother and a BHG Co-Founder. "We look for qualifying candidates who work hard, challenge their peers and operate as a team loyal to their co-workers by being respectful, inclusive and honest."
South Florida Top Workplaces honorees were recognized at an awards ceremony held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale.
