BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BBVA Compass announced that 30-year banking veteran, Mark Sunderland, has been appointed senior vice president and relationship manager for the bank's Commercial Banking unit in Denver. As senior vice president and relationship manager, Sunderland will focus on business development and relationship management with companies which have revenues up to $1.5 billion in the Denver metro area.

A longtime Colorado resident, Sunderland graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. Following successful stints with international and domestic banks in California, Sunderland returned to Colorado in 1996, where he worked for KeyBanc Capital Markets on two separate occasions, from 1996 through 2005 and again in 2007 through 2009.
Sunderland resides in Littleton, Colorado with wife Liz and three sons.
