Noted Entrepreneur and Women in Business Expert Featured at Atlanta Event
ATLANTA, May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Womenetics is pleased to announce Barbara Kasoff, president, CEO and co-founder of Women Impacting Public Policy, Inc., will be the keynote speaker at the second annual women's business conference, "Entrepreneurs 2011: Turning Vision into Value." With the strong focus that female business owners need greater access to resources to help grow their businesses, the half day event will include panel discussions with successful Georgia entrepreneurs and experts from the public and private funding realms about real world financing options that can lead to business success. A Resource Fair of institutions that support women-owned businesses will be available throughout the morning. The event will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta, GA.
"Prior to co-founding Women Impacting Public Policy, Inc., Barbara Kasoff owned, and then sold, three successful telecommunications businesses," says Elisabeth Marchant, CEO of Womenetics. "Kasoff now uses the knowledge and expertise she gained from that experience to challenge the status quo and help change public policy for women in business. Womenetics is honored to have her join us, and we're excited to present this comprehensive program aimed at giving women the recognition and resources needed to increase female business ownership and advance their national and global business aspirations."
For many years, Barbara Kasoff has been an advocate for small businesses and for women and minorities in business. In addition to the roles she plays through WIPP, Kasoff has enabled thousands of small business owners to communicate directly with one another to improve their businesses, learn of programs, opportunities and appointments in the communities, improve the climate of entrepreneurship, and play a part in public policy making. Kasoff is also in her second term as a member of the National Women's Business Council which advises the President, Congress and the Small Business Administration, and which cited women's access to capital as a primary research priority at their April NWBC meeting.
