Barbara Ray Joins North Highland's Tallahassee Office

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global consulting company, North Highland, has announced the addition of Barbara Ray as vice president and new local office leader in Tallahassee. Ray will also serve as a member of North Highland's Public Sector Global Expertise Network leadership team and will lead company efforts to expand its public sector footprint in existing markets as well as create opportunities in new markets.

Ray has more than 20 years of experience and a consistent track-record of driving profitable growth with companies transitioning or expanding into the public sector. She has also used her expertise to consult with state government executives and Fortune 500 business executives on the business of cost-effective and delivery-effective government.

Prior to joining North Highland, Ray previously held positions in private organizations as well as top leadership positions with two State of Florida agencies. Under former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, she served as deputy secretary to the Department of Management Services and general counsel to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. In 2003, she was appointed to a four-year term as a Florida State Boxing Commissioner under Governor Bush and was the only female on the board during her tenure.

Ray graduated with honors from Florida State University College of Law and is active in the Tallahassee community. She currently serves on the Regional Council and Council of Advisors for Leadership Florida and the board of directors for the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
