BARBRI Law Preview and preeminent law schools and firms award scholarships for comprehensive law school prep course

DALLAS, May 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BARBRI Law Preview, part of leading legal education provider The BARBRI Group, along with leading law schools, law firms, companies and bar associations, will award multiple Law Preview scholarships to students preparing to enter select law schools. Law Preview is an innovative, comprehensive law school prep course that has proven to enhance early law school academic success.

Sponsoring organizations will fund full scholarships for incoming law students of participating schools to attend one of BARBRI Law Preview summer sessions where they learn from the nation's leading law school professors and attorney lecturers on what to expect and how to succeed in law school. Some sponsors will also make further investments by mentoring scholarship recipients throughout their 1L year.

Since 1998, thousands of incoming law students have taken the week-long intensive study course prior to entering law school. BARBRI's Law Preview, offered as law professor-led sessions in 21 locations around the country, teaches students how to brief cases, write outlines, study effectively, take tests and manage their time – all critical skills for success in law school. In addition to the skills portion, the classroom course also provides an overview of the six core law school subjects that are required for most students in their first year.

Law Preview has demonstrated success in enabling stronger early academic performance in law school and beyond. An independent study reported that of students who had completed Law Preview, 19 percent finished in the top five percent of their 1L classes and nearly 40 percent finished in the top 10 percent. From a post-school perspective, 88 percent of those who had completed Law Preview passed the bar exam on the first try and 84 percent reported being employed in the legal services industry, or as a judicial clerk, within nine months of graduation.
