Baseball All-Star and Angels Baseball's first baseman Albert Pujols shares the story of his personal journey from the Dominican Republic to the U.S. major leagues and what personal legacy he hopes to leave beyond baseball in a new short film premiering Tuesday, July 2nd, in partnership with I Am Second, a movement meant to inspire through stories of hope and transformation.

Albert Pujols has had one of the most storied and impressive careers that an active player can have in Major League Baseball. His accolades include being a nine-time All-Star, two-time World Series Champion, 3-time NL MVP, and NL Rookie of the Year among countless other achievements. But in the new short film premiering today, Pujols shares how there is more to him than his many baseball accomplishments.

This event will give viewers an in-depth look at the man behind the glove through childhood stories and on the field anecdotes.  Pujols will share personal snapshots including meeting his wife Deidre and her daughter, Isabella, who lives with Down syndrome. Through his journey raising Isabella as his own, Pujols became a stronger man of faith. It was this that inspired him and his wife to found The Pujols Family Foundation, a non-profit that focuses on aiding families with Down syndrome children & impoverished people of Albert's native country of the Dominican Republic, in 2005.

Launched in Dallas-Fort Worth in December 2008, the website and films have reached nearly 24 million [people from 219 countries/regions. The "I am Second" book, which was released last January by Thomas Nelson, shares further details of the stories of 22 individuals seen on A new book, "Live Second-365 Ways to Put Jesus First," was released in December 2012.

The I Am Second movement has featured celebrities such as model and actress Kathy Ireland; hip-hop artist LeCare; 2010 AL MVP and Angels Baseball outfielder Josh Hamilton; former Korn band member Brian "Head" Welch; surfer Bethany Hamilton; and football stars Bradie James, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford and Matt Barkley.
