Baskins Ventures Into Heart of Louisiana
Western Wear Store To Debut in Alexandria, La.
HUMBLE, Texas, March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Baskins, a leading retail chain of western and work wear -- celebrating its 40th anniversary this year – will soon open a store in Alexandria, the central Louisiana city just named as one of America's "Best Adventure Towns."
The Alexandria store, slated for opening Friday, March 30, at 2201 Memorial Drive, will be the 24th location for Baskins. The fast-growing retailer offers its guests the best western and work brands for the entire family. One of the store's specialties will be a wide variety of work wear and fire resistant clothing, durable apparel that's perfect for an Alexandria work force heavily rooted in industries such as construction, manufacturing and mechanical engineering.
National Geographic magazine recently named Alexandria among America's 100 "Best Adventure Towns," a tribute to the city's Mardi Gras weekend, the Kisatchie National Forest and the 31-mile Wild Azalea Trail near Woodworth.
"I've had the great opportunity to visit Alexandria several times already, and this town is a perfect showcase for our store," said Bryan Baskin, company president. "This is the heart of Louisiana—right in the middle of the state – and there's a rugged spirit of the outdoors. In this kind of environment, people demand durable, long-lasting and fashionable apparel like denim shirts, jeans and boots. We can't wait to show them what we've got, which is the best in western and work wear."
Ariat, Justin and Tony Lama are among the name brands that fill rows and rows of boot inventory at Baskins. There's a big selection of hats, like Resistol and Stetson, as well as jeans such as Cinch, Levi's and Wrangler. Whether it's flame-resistant work wear or gear for the ranch, Baskins has a vast selection of clothing to fit any work environment. And with accessories and home decor merchandise, Baskins offers more than just traditional western clothing.
Baskins stores, which began in 1972 in Trinity, Texas, are well known for the unique customer experience they provide. Sales associates are trained to be western fashion specialists and have an outgoing approach to helping customers. "We hire and train an excellent staff of associates who understand the Baskins service proposition," Bryan Baskin said. "That includes knowing everything about the merchandise we sell."
The Alexandria store will be the company's second retail location in Louisiana; the Lake Charles, La. store opened last fall. Headquartered in Humble, Texas, retail stores in the Baskins system are primarily located in eastern Texas.
In addition to the Louisiana stores, other locations include the Texas cities of Bryan, Conroe, Corpus Christi, Dickinson, Henderson, Huntsville, Jasper, Lake Jackson, Liberty, Livingston, Longview, Lufkin, Marshall, Nacogdoches, Rosenberg, San Antonio, Sherman, Texarkana, Tyler, Vidor and Waco.
