KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BATS Global Markets, a global stock market operator, reports the BATS 1000 Index (BATSK) was down 1.6% for the week ending March 18 in the U.S. The S&P 500 Index declined 1.9% for the same period.
The BATS 1000 Index was at 14,532.18 as of 4 p.m. ET Friday compared with a final value of 14,772.91 last Friday.
The Alternative Resources (+0.7%) and Basic Materials (0.3%) sectors were the only two sectors to advance this week. Eight sectors declined with Utilities (–3.4%) and Technology and Communications (–3.3%) leading the declines.
