Bauer: While Obama Assaults Faith Here At Home, He's Apologizing To Jihadists Overseas

WASHINGTON, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former presidential candidate Gary Bauer announced today that his Campaign for American Values Super PAC was expanding its rollout of faith-based political messaging in this election cycle with new television ads in Iowa and Wisconsin.  

"Barack Obama's foreign policy is a failure.  The Middle East is in flames.  Yet while he assaults faith here at home, forcing religious institutions to violate their core values, he is apologizing to intolerant Islamic extremists overseas," Bauer said.

Bauer's influence has been key in rallying faith-based voters who make up the majority of the Republican Party.  Recently, the Guardian called Bauer "one of the leading campaigners in the U.S. on pro-life and pro-traditional family issues."

Bauer, chairman of CAV, said his latest spots contrast Obama's assault on faith, such as ordering religious institutions to pay for abortion-inducing drugs, while issuing repeated apologies to Islamists who attacked our embassy in Cairo and stormed the streets of Pakistan.

"When it comes to the feelings of the militant Muslims, this administration demonstrates endless sensitivity," said Bauer.  He continued, "But it has no hesitation about forcing Catholic hospitals, evangelical universities or Christian employers to pay for abortion-inducing drugs.  Obama's priorities are incredibly misplaced."

Other advertising by Bauer in this cycle includes a campaign during the Democratic National Convention, in which North Carolinians were reminded of President Obama's support for same-sex marriage. Previous ads that Bauer ran on marriage were highly effective during the Bush-Kerry Presidential race in the swing state of Ohio, along with many other carefully targeted campaigns.
