Bayer HealthCare Announces the Launch of Aleve® PM: The First and Only OTC PM Pain Reliever with a Sleep Aid Plus the 12-Hour Pain Relieving Strength of Aleve

WHIPPANY, N.J., Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Bayer HealthCare LLC announces an exciting innovation in the nighttime pain reliever category with the launch of Aleve^® PM, now available at retailers nationwide.  Aleve PM is the first over-the-counter (OTC) PM product with a safe sleep aid plus the 12-hour pain relieving strength of Aleve for pain relief that can last until the morning.

Aleve PM is a two pill dose.  Each caplet contains naproxen sodium (220 mg), which can provide up to 12-hours of pain relief, and diphenhydramine HCl (25 mg), which is a sleep aid.  The naproxen sodium (220 mg) in Aleve PM works by temporarily blocking the body's production of naturally occurring chemicals called prostaglandins.  Prostaglandins play a direct role in pain.
