BBR$999 Opens Second Mortgage Week at Americas Cardroom With Back-to-Back Wins

The two Nosebleed Stakes victories paid $241,630 as OSS XL entered its final week.

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Americas Cardroom player BBR$999 won the first two Second Mortgage Week tournaments on Monday, collecting $241,630 across consecutive Nosebleed Stakes events.

BBR$999 opened with a victory in the $10,300 NLH 8-Max, earning $154,000. The 55-entry tournament produced a $550,000 prize pool. Americas Cardroom CEO Phil Nagy, playing as Justsomefish72, finished second for $110,000, and LeijkieHond placed third for $88,000.

The winner followed by taking the $5,200 NLH 8-Max for $87,630. That tournament drew 69 entries and generated a $345,000 prize pool. Halongbeee earned $65,550 as runner-up, while Chamois999 collected $51,750 for third.

The two opening tournaments awarded $895,000 in total. BBR$999 claimed more than one-quarter of that amount.

Americas Cardroom Pros Chris Moneymaker, playing under his own name, and Alex Foxen, competing as OutFoxenYou, also entered the opening events but did not reach the paid places.

Eight tournaments remain through Monday, September 28, with buy-ins from $5,200 to $25,500. Wednesday brings two Pot-Limit Omaha events, Thursday offers two No-Limit Hold'em tournaments, and the largest buy-in, a $25,500 NLH 8-Max, is scheduled for Sunday, September 27.

Second Mortgage Week is part of the $50 million GTD OSS XL, which ends September 29. Sunday also features Day 1B of the $2.5 million guaranteed $2,650 OSS XL Main Event and the $2 million guaranteed $1,050 Main Event, plus Day 2 of the $500,000 guaranteed $66 Main Event.
