BB&T Corporation declares 15-cent third-quarter dividend

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., June 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The board of directors of BB&T Corporation (NYSE: BBT) today declared the 2010 third-quarter dividend of $0.15 per common share. At this quarterly rate, the annual dividend is equivalent to $0.60 per common share.

The dividend will be paid Aug. 2, 2010, to shareholders of record as of July 9, 2010. The company has approximately 692 million shares outstanding. BB&T has paid a cash dividend to shareholders every year since 1903.
