Clients who may have incurred storm-related overdraft, returned item, negative account balance or late loan payment fees related to the storm are encouraged to contact BB&T at 800-BANK-BBT (800-226-5228) for assistance.
BB&T is also suspending certain ATM service charges in the areas most affected by Hurricane Irma through Sept 30th. For our clients from Florida, service charges related to non-BB&T ATM usage, including service charges to BB&T clients by other financial institutions for use of their ATMs, will either not be charged or refunded at a later date. Clients from Georgia, South Carolina, and other affected areas can contact their local branches for information on refund availability.
BB&T recently announced a contribution of $500,000 to help support disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Half of the donation will be a cash contribution to the American Red Cross and the remainder is comprised of eight truckloads of humanitarian supplies, such as bottled water and basic essentials to assist in the recovery.
Clients can find a complete list of Hurricane Irma-related closures at BBT.com.
