BBVA Compass Appoints Tom Tuter Market President for Northern California

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass announced today that Tom Tuter has been appointed to market president for Northern California, focusing on Sacramento, Walnut Creek and the Upper Central Valley region. Tuter will direct all commercial banking and specialty group activities for the bank while working to expand its corporate banking relationships in the region. He will also coordinate efforts with the bank's Real Estate group and Retail and Wealth Management lines of business.

Tuter assumes the role of market president for BBVA Compass after serving 10 of his 15 year banking career in commercial banking at Bank of America. In that role he was responsible for managing large corporate accounts with revenues exceeding $1 billion in the Central Valley region. Tuter also previously worked for GE Capital in the Commercial Finance Group where he originated large corporate and commercial accounts across Northern California.

Tuter received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business. His civic duties include service on the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee for the Greater Sacramento Area Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Tuter and wife Heather live in Sacramento with their two children, William and Luke.
