HOUSTON, July 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 1,300 BBVA Compass employees fanned out across the Sunbelt last week for Bank It Forward, the bank's five-day blitz of generosity that allowed it to do good in unexpected ways.
Team members showed up unannounced at hospitals, food banks, gas stations, fire stations, grocery stores and other locations to hand out gift cards, pay bills and deliver various items of need. BBVA Compass Chairman and CEO Manolo Sanchez said the campaign and others like it that will follow help the bank to strongly deliver on its new "banking on a brighter future" brand promise, which underscores the bank's commitment to paying it forward and helping clients stay in financial control.
"We gave our teammates an opportunity to represent the BBVA Compass brand in a refreshing new way and they responded," Sanchez said. "With each act of kindness, we all were inspired and empowered to brighten the lives of others."
Employees chronicled their activities on social media via the hashtag #LiveBright, and highlights of some of the week's brightest moments can be found on the bank's Facebook page and on a highlight reel here. BBVA Compass Chief Marketing and Client Experience Officer Jennifer Dominiquini said the campaign beautifully captured the bank's aspirations to connect with and improve its communities.
