SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- BCCI, a premier commercial contractor firm, is proud to announce the construction completion of the new office of the Consulate General of the Netherlands (Dutch Consulate) in San Francisco. BCCI partnered with the Dutch Consulate to build a modern office space for the consolidation of several Dutch government departments, including the consular, economic, and cultural departments to the Post Montgomery Building at One Montgomery Street in downtown San Francisco. This new office now serves as the main location for the Dutch government's activities in the Western United States.

Many of the office's materials and furnishings were fabricated in the Netherlands and shipped to the U.S. for installation. BCCI built out the office space while the components, including the transaction and visa counters and entry framing systems, were constructed overseas. BCCI ensured that all measurements for these elements were precise as they needed to fit perfectly into the already-built space. BCCI coordinated with the Dutch Consulate's various suppliers to ensure measurements of both the furnishings and electrical system were properly converted and met the City of San Francisco's building standards and codes.

The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires a specific level of security for all overseas missions. In order to meet these standards, a robust security system was installed in the space for various offices and entries. Given BCCI's past experience constructing Consulate offices in downtown San Francisco, the team installed these sophisticated systems efficiently and with skill.

"Our collaboration with BCCI and the architect has been very successful despite working within a tight project timeframe," said Marcel van Doorn, Head of Consular Affairs. "The result is an office space which is modern, secure and open in design. We highly value the expertise and pragmatic approach that BCCI brought to this project."

This office build-out is slated to receive LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in April 2010, exemplifying the commitment of both the Dutch Consulate and BCCI to sustainable design.
