"Be A THINKing Partner" App From 2-Way Communications Teaches How to Listen and Encourage Thinking Rather Than Giving Advice
CLARKSTON, Mich., Feb. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- A new mobile app — "Be A THINKing Partner" — teaches how to help others make better decisions by listening and asking thoughtful, active questions rather than just doling out advice that's often generic and not always helpful. This innovative tool, developed by the leadership experts at 2-Way Communications (http://www.2waycommunications.net/), demonstrates how to think through situations and talk through ideas. Users of the app who apply its strategies will quickly become true THINKing partners. More information about the "Be A THINKing Partner" app is available on the 2-Way Communications website; the app can be downloaded now in the App Store.
Diane Morrison — owner of 2-Way Communications, LLC — has been teaching leaders to use coaching skills for 20 years, which led to the development of the "Be A THINKing Partner" app. In classroom sessions, many leaders discussed the potential value of coaching family members and friends. Diane devised this app to make the act of coaching simple. The essence of her approach is less talking and more listening, which is the foundation of being a true THINKing Partner.
The app features five modules with micro-lessons containing powerful narrative elements and impactful videos to guide users through the steps of becoming a THINKing Partner. The first module is free and describes what a THINKing Partner is and the areas of life where being a THINKing Partner adds value. The rest of the modules are available as an in-app purchase (one purchase buys all remaining modules) and provide powerful narrative, video and practice opportunities in Awareness and Action, Listening, Asking Questions, and the 5-step THINK model.
Other features of the "Be A THINKing Partner" app include a Toolbox with worksheets, awareness tools, a powerful questions list, a listening assessment, and a diary to help users track opportunities to apply THINKing Partner skills. Another feature is the prACTice area with exercises to strengthen one's capacity to be an effective THINKing Partner. There is also a Did It button to record accomplishments in every module, and Badges of Completion earned from completed activities.
In developing the "Be A THINKing Partner" app, Diane Morrison partnered with a strong researcher: her sister, Marcy Sprenkle. As a Ph.D. student in performance psychology and a teacher, Marcy's research background and skills perfectly complemented Diane's coaching experience to create a dynamic app that will help users improve their listening skills and learn to ask powerful questions.
2-Way Communications is also the publisher of the Power of 3 Words and 2-Way Delegation apps. The Power of 3 Words encourages users to strengthen their most valued relationships, while 2-Way Delegation is a primer on the vital skill of delegation from the perspective of both sides of a delegated task or responsibility.
