Behringer and JLL to Finally Settle Last Year's Friendly Wager

Which company's team will finish faster in the Behringer Corporate Relay Challenge at MetroPCS Dallas Marathon?

DALLAS, Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- While the stakes remain the same, the competition is just as fierce as Behringer and JLL continue last year's friendly competition surrounding the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon on December 14.

Both JLL's Executive Chairman of the Americas Roger Staubach, and Behringer's CEO, Bob Aisner have agreed to settle last year's CEO Challenge, which was cancelled due to ice. Each company will send a team to compete in the Corporate Relay Challenge, one of the elements of the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon's Behringer Relay, which also includes the 5-person Relay. The team finishing with the faster time will win the challenge.

"It's been a year in the making, but I am thrilled that my friend and NFL legend Roger Staubach has agreed to settle the bet on behalf of JLL. We are looking forward to seeing other companies come out and participate on race day," said Aisner. "It's all good fun for a good cause, and after a long wait—our team is more than ready to take on the challenge."

A bit of humble pie is all that's at stake in this good-natured contest. If JLL's team wins, Aisner, a Boston native and passionate Red Sox fan, must wear Staubach's No. 12 Dallas Cowboys jersey to the company's Addison offices. Conversely, if Aisner's Behringer team wins, Staubach will be obliged to suit up in Boston's red and blue for a day at JLL's Preston Center office.

"We are both ready to see this challenge come to fruition," said Staubach. "I have always loved friendly competition and am hoping that other companies in our community will follow suit and participate in their own challenges on race day. I don't know who will have the faster team, JLL or Behringer, but I'll be happy to shake the winner's hand."

Behringer Relay participants will follow the same 26.2-mile course as MetroPCS Dallas Marathon participants. Team members complete 4.4 to 6.5 miles each depending on their specific leg of the relay. Winning relay teams in a variety of categories will share cash prizes that will be presented directly to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) in the names of their respective corporations or team at a ceremony in early 2015.
