Berlin Packaging Adds Kenneth Edwards as Executive Vice President of Supply Chain

CHICAGO, Aug. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Berlin Packaging, the world's leading supplier of plastic, glass, and metal containers and closures, today announced that Kenneth Edwards has joined the company as Executive Vice President of Supply Chain. Bringing more than 30 years' experience in procurement and manufacturing across multiple sectors, Edwards' proven supply-chain track record lends itself well to overseeing Berlin's network of more than 900 packaging manufacturers worldwide.

Responsible for all aspects of Berlin Packaging's sourcing and procurement activities, Edwards is tasked with further strengthening and extending Berlin's relationships with domestic and international suppliers with the aim of expanding product options, lowering costs for customers, and assuring quality.

Edwards also champions Berlin Packaging's Quality team, including the proactive consulting offered to strengthen the supply chains of Berlin's customers; manages strategic supplier and product development programs; and oversees Berlin Packaging's ISO 9001 and C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) certifications. Edwards has also joined Berlin Packaging's executive leadership team.

Prior to joining Berlin Packaging, Edwards worked at spirits company Beam Suntory as VP Global Head of Manufacturing, leading 1,300 employees across all the company's distilling and bottling facilities, and earlier as VP Global Chief Procurement Officer, overseeing all direct and indirect sourcing. Over the course of his accomplished career, Edwards also focused on procurement and operations at Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers, Avon Products, and Zurich Financial Services, where he was the company's Global Head of Procurement and Real Estate.

Edwards holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and an M.B.A.
